Michigan Is My Home Wins TEDxUofM Award for Innovation

TEDxUofM is an independently organized TED event that highlights individuals and groups at the University of Michigan that are sharing innovative ideas across campus. Each year since 2014, TEDxUofM has offered an Award for Innovation that gifts students or student organizations $1,000 that are making a difference in the University of Michigan community with innovative and inspirational ideas.

The executive board of Michigan Is My Home is pleased to announce that MIMH was chosen as the sole winner of this award for this year. After submitting an application, Michigan Is My Home was interviewed by TEDxUofM. After seeing what MIMH has accomplished in less than two years and hearing about their future plans, TEDxUofM was impressed by their devotion to the community and continuous drive for change and improvement.

Hussain Ali and Payton Watt, president and vice president (respectively) of Michigan Is My Home, will accept the Award for Innovation at the TEDxUofM event on Friday, February 9th from 6:00-10:00pm. Although the event is sold out, there will be a livestream available. Ali and Watt are scheduled to receive the award and give a short presentation at 7:35pm.
